Weekly Notes 15/2026

Sorry for missing this last week - I was struck with The Plague (Common Cold).

I got the flu right at the start of the Easter Holiday long weekend so incredible timing there. I still feel slightly under the weather, but getting better now.

Anyway, last week I went to an Algorave! I was a guitar-music-is-the-real-deal person but lately I’ve enjoyed quite a bit of Ambient electronic music, Aphex Twin so I wanted to give it a try. Oh boy I’m glad I did. I went to this thing with my friend Tom and a couple of Tom’s colleagues. I had a great time getting introduced to this form of creative expression. There were a few sets for first timers for half an hour or so and after that, there were a couple of sets from the pastagang collective. A ‘set’ consisted of 2 creatives performing together - one on the video side, generating procedural visuals, usually with Hydra and other generating the audio with Strudel, although tools are not a constraint and I’m guessing artists are free to use whatever they please. I especially loved the procedurally generated Rickroll starts at around 12:00 mark.

Otherwise, work has been steady and I’m still recovering from illness. Hope to be back next week.

Denouement

This band called Angine de Poitrine apparently went viral. This track sounds like a fever dream. Can’t say I didn’t enjoy it :)
